Garden Grove Pony Baseball is a non-profit organization that runs on the hard work and dedication of volunteers. The number of shifts will vary from season to season depending on the number of teams in the league.
As of the 2024 Spring Season, snack bar/field duty fees are charged upfront when registering your child. The fees were charged upfront so that if parents/family members are not able to volunteer their time, the league may hire someone to work the shift. In past seasons, if parents were unable to fulfill their duties, it would result in the player being sat during games until obligations had been fulfilled. This was unfair to the child and put us in a difficult situation.
Fees are refundable for each shift served. Otherwise, the league will use the $50 per shift as a buyout.
Although you are volunteering and we do appreciate your support, we do have a few rules that have been implemented to protect the league and its members from any harm or liability. Failure to follow these rules could result in your shift being rescheduled for another day.
Kids ages 15 years or older with parent permission will be able to work shifts. Kids will work only front of snack bar where there are no grilled or hot foods.
We will have to reschedule your shift if these rules are not followed.
Your shifts will be tracked. All league members are required to work (2) shifts per child registered. If you have more than (2) children registered, you will only have to work a max of (4) shifts.
